About Hearthly

Most dating apps begin with a photo and a swipe. Hearthly begins with who you are, what matters to you, and what you want from life.

You answer questions about values, everyday life, boundaries, and what you are looking for. The answers show what you have in common and important differences that are better to know early.

You can use Hearthly for dating or friendship. Your profile is never put on display for swiping, and what a match becomes is up to both of you.

I'm Even Høie, and I build Hearthly in Norway. I started the project because I wanted to make something other than another dating app built around swiping.

A photo and a flirty chat can be enough to arrange a date, but they say little about personality, values, or what each person wants from life. Important differences may show up on the first date—or months later.

Hearthly takes a little more time before making an introduction, so you can see earlier whether your lives are headed in a similar direction. You see what you have in common and a few differences worth knowing before you have spent a long time getting to know each other.

Hearthly cannot know what a match will become. It can give you a better starting point; the rest is up to both of you.
