Yes! The core matching experience is completely free. Premium features like advanced filters and unlimited likes are available for those who want more.
Matching & Connections
How does matching work?
After completing our compatibility questionnaire, you enter the matching pool. Our engines analyze your answers to find compatible matches. Both people must accept to start a conversation.
What's the difference between Love Mode and Friend Mode?
Love Mode is for romantic connections, Friend Mode is for platonic friendships. Each has its own matching pool so intentions are always clear.
Why do I need to complete a questionnaire?
The questionnaire is how we understand what makes you tick. It covers values, lifestyle, relationship goals, and more. Better answers = better matches.
Can I change my answers later?
Yes! You can update your questionnaire responses anytime from your profile settings.
Safety & Privacy
How does Hearthly protect my privacy?
Your data is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold to third parties. We're GDPR compliant and take privacy seriously.
How do I report someone?
You can report users directly from their profile or chat. All reports are reviewed by our team within 24 hours.
Can I block someone?
Yes. You can block anyone from their profile. Blocked users can't see you or contact you.
Messaging & Communication
When can I start messaging someone?
You can message someone after you've both accepted the match. This ensures both people are interested before conversations begin.
Are my messages private?
Yes. Messages are encrypted and only visible to you and your match. We don't read your conversations.
Account & Settings
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from Hearthly.
Can I pause my account?
Yes! You can pause your account from Settings. You won't appear in search or receive new matches until you unpause.
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Settings → Account to update your email or password. You'll need to verify changes via email.
